If you have ever experienced MCBMUN before you will know the importance of bribes in getting along with the chairs (and your ever important press team) so in the interest of better bribes we have prepared our guide to the top ten bribe shops:   10. The Polish Deli – The press team has included this store partly due to its handiness to the Lisburn Road side of MCB, but mainly out of curiosity as we have never been in and we therefore have no idea what it sells.    9. Post Office – The most convenient of all the bribe shops, just beside MCB gates, sadly only makes it to number 9 on our list due to its lack of choice. It is, however, always reliable for a quick Galaxy Caramel if you haven’t come prepared.    8. Centra – Good choices, great sandwiches, box of chips for 99p, what more can you ask for? And there are two within walking distance as well – Malone Road or Stranmillis, take your pick.    7. Starbuck’s – The world’s local coffee shop, offering everything you would expect from Starbuck’s. And that’s why we love it. Again it’s very close to MCB on the Lisburn Road.    6. M&S – Ok, pretty far away, but if you’re looking to really impress then some Marksie’s Cheese Twists always go down a treat. After all, how can something with the words “all butter” in the title be bad?    5. Winemark - If you and the recipient of your bribe are over 18 (we can’t support underage drinking) then always a good bet. We personally never say no to a wee Magner’s.    4. Subway – You can take your pick between the Lisburn Road, Stranmillis or Botanic stores but wherever you go there is one key point to remember; the meatier the better.    3. Clements – While we are aware that we’ve already put a coffee shop on our list, Clements, in particular their hot chocolate and sausage rolls, is superior to all other coffee shops. The closest two are Student’s Union and Stranmillis.    2. DJ’s – Independent sweet shop at the Stranmillis roundabout that offers a wide variety of sweeties. While it’s quite a hike, it’s well worth it. There is nothing, well nothing that isn’t shoes or jewellery, that will win you a place in our hearts quicker than apple straws from DJ’s.    1. Sphinx – Just a wee jaunt up the Stranmillis Road, Sphinx offers you the opportunity to buy the King of all chips. Get a kebab on chips and always go for Sphinx sauce.    Elizabeth Crooks
